We won't spend too much time here recapping current events.  You know what's going on.  And you're probably working from home right now as you read this.

Encryptomatic LLC has been a digital company from the moment of its founding in 2005.  100% of our employees and contractors are able to work remotely. Its a way of working to which we are fully accustomed.  It has been a bit of a surprise to us just how much of the world is finally getting around to working online.

MailDex 2020 is Updated

We have updated MailDex 2020 (v1.5) email manager and exporter.

This update resolves several issues discovered by our QA team.  It also includes a new feature, export email to XML.

You can update MailDex from within the software by going to Help > Check for Updates.

Update MailDex 2020

OutDisk SFTP 4.90.20 is released.

We have updated OutDisk secure FTP for Windows and OutDisk sftp add-in for Microsoft Office 

Outlook. Version 4.90.20 is now available for download from the OutDisk home page.

This is a minor release that resolves a few user reported issues around updating and activation reported.

OutDisk Secure FTP is both a Windows desktop application and add-in for Microsoft Outlook. OutDisk lets you create a self-hosted service for uploading large files.  Because OutDisk SFTP is an application and not a service, users are responsible for providing their own hosting infrastructure. It is not recommended for people who are unfamiliar with web servers.

Sending Large Email File Attachments from Microsoft Outlook with OutDisk SFTP Add-in

Businesses have long struggled with email file attachments.  Large file attachments in email are likely to bounce, failing to be delivered to the recipient. When they do arrive, they put a strain on server inbox resources.  Email file attachments also present a security risk from virus phishing attempts, causing email administrators to quarantine or strip the file from the email message.

There are plenty of 3rd party services who will provide email file attachment hosting for a fee.  Storing data outside of the organization and depending on the security protocol of the 3rd party provider is a great solution for some companies, but for those who use Microsoft Outlook and want more control of outbound email data, there is OutDisk SFTP.

OutDisk SFTP is an add-in that integrates with Microsoft Outlook 365/2019/2016/2013/2010. When an a sender attaches a file of any size to an email, OutDisk SFTP processes it without any additional requirement being placed on the sender.

In  seamless operation, OutDisk SFTP removes the attachment from the outbound email, uploads it over encrypted secure FTP to a company controlled server, and inserts a link and message into the email instructing the recipient to download the file.  Only the message and link are sent through email, while downloading the file occurs over secure TLS via https protocol.

An update for MailDex 2020 email manager is now available.

Encryptomatic LLC has released an update to their MailDex 2020 email management and conversion software.  Version 1.4.6 is an update that is recommended  for all customers. It solves several user reported issues and includes the latest performance and user interface improvements.

This update is available to all customers with a current MailDex support and update contract.   To update within MailDex, go to Help > Update Software.

The issues resolved include:
MDX228 & MDX119: The message count was incorrect for MBOX formatted emails
MDX346: A crash may occur when a certain column is maximized
MDX347: Index process sometimes became unresponsive with MBOX

Encryptomatic OpenPGP for Outlook is Updated

Encryptomatic OpenPGP add-in for Microsoft Outlook has been updated. The latest version is 2.6.5 and is now available for download.

This release resolves several user reported issues and is recommended for all users.

The numerous enhancements in this release include:

Re-Introducing PstViewer Lite Outlook Email Viewer

PstViewer Lite is the little brother of our PstViewer Pro email viewer.  At Encryptomatic LLC, we haven't paid much attention to PstViewer Lite lately. It's one of those rock solid products that performs well and hasn't demanded much attention from our support or development staff. That is about to change, however.

We are presently working to update PstViewer Lite to the most advanced version of our MVCOM email rendering engine.  This will keep PstViewer Lite performing well into the foreseeable future.  The impending update of PstViewer Lite seems like a good reason for us to re-introduce this workhorse Windows software product.

PstViewer Lite was first released a decade ago to fill a market need for a budget priced, well supported Microsoft Outlook email viewer.  You can associate PstViewer Lite with many different email file types, including .Msg, .Eml, .Mbox, .Pst, .Pst and even .MHT and .MHTML files.

Associations can be changed any time, but typically is set during the initial installation of PstViewer Lite.

 PstViewer Lite is simple to use. Just locate the folder that holds the email file(s), and PstViewer Lite will read the individual mails into an organized list.  To preview an email in the viewing pane, just click on it.

Email Search

PstViewer Lite has advanced search capabilities.  Use it to search a ost, pst or mbox file, as well as directories full of .msg and .eml emails.  Clicking on the search icon brings up a quick text search option. A more advanced search option is available to allow you to search for emails by mixing criteria such as sender, setting start and end calendar date for the search, searching specific email fields such as subject, sender, recipient and more.

Email to PDF 

PstViewer Lite can convert an email message to a PDF document.  This is the main difference between PstViewer Lite and Pro.  Where PstViewer Pro can export thousands of emails to PDF, PstViewer Lite will export individual selected emails to PDF.  The results are impressive.

To convert an email to PDF, first select an email from the PstViewer Lite email list. Next, click the PDF icon in the toolbar, and finally choose a place to save the PDF file.
