Request Information from Others Securely with Lockbin Add-in for MS Outlook

Sometimes, a client needs to send important information directly to a professional. The process for sending the Information Request for Outlook users who have installed the Lockbin add-in only involves a couple of clicks.

First, choose the "Send Request" button.

Next, type the email address of the person who needs to send the information and a short description that will appear on the web form.

Finally, choose whether you want Lockbin to email the link, or if you prefer to send it yourself, maybe in an email or SMS text.

When the recipient follows the link, they are taken to a form that is dynamically generated based on your specific request to this user.

Any information entered into this form will be sent directly to the Lockbin user. Outlook users will receive the information directly into their Outlook mailbox.

However, rest assured - even though the experience in Outlook is similar to receiving an email,  your client's private information has not been sent over email protocols.  The information travels directly from the Lockbin server to your Microsoft Outlook inbox, never through a mail server.

3 Simple Ways to Open .EML Email Files

What is a .eml file?

Copy Outlook Emails to PDF, MBOX and other Formats with MessageExport by Encryptomatic LLC

MessageExport(TM) add-in by Encryptomatic LLC is add-in for Microsoft Outlook 2016/2013/2010/2007 that helps format and convert email messages to PDF, MBOX, and other formats.

After installation on Windows 10/8/7,  MessageExport appears in the Outlook toolbar.

MessageExport adds PDF and email export abilities to MS Outlook.

From the drop down list, select the export profile that you want to convert the selected emails to.  In the above image, we have chosen an export profile called "Export to PDF - Attachments Embedded."   This profile will convert the email file to the PDF image, and will embed file attachments within the PDF so they can be extracted later as editable files.

We can export multiple emails by selecting them in the Outlook list.  To select all emails in the list, type Ctrol-A.

The final step in the export process is to click the "Export" button in the MessageExport toolbar. 

MessageExport can function in either 32-bit or 64-bit Outlook environments.  The best experience and fastest export performance will occur when 64-bit Outlook is used.  This provides MessageExport with access to more memory resources on your computer, allowing it to function faster.

Enabling TLS 1.3 in Chrome

Transport Layer Security (TLS) Protocol Version 1.3 was approved by IETF in March, 2018, and is slowly making its way onto the internet.

TLS 1.3 in Chrome is available and can be enabled manually.

To enable it,  in Chrome address bar type:  chrome://flags/

Scroll down to find "TLS 1.3", then change the drop down list to "Default."

Restart Chrome.

To make sure that TLS 1.3 is active in Chrome, test your browser.

Go to https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewMyClient to run a protocol check.  The results of this test should tell you that TLS 1.3 has been enabled.

Encryptomatic OpenPGP Add-in for MS Outlook is Updated

Encryptomatic OpenPGP add-in for Microsoft Outlook 2010/2013/2016 has been updated.  Version 2.5.2 is now available for download from the product homepage.

This is a recommended update for all users.  It addresses concerns around the widely reported eFail exfiltration technique.  While our analysis did not confirm the success of eFail with Encryptomatic OpenPGP and MS Outlook, we have implemented further precautions. 

This new release includes security enhancements that will warn users for emails without MDC validation and signature verification. We have also provided more control to you to be informed and receive security warnings.
